Terracotta and other clay materials play a key role in period buildings, where they are used for wall faces, roofs, architectural ornaments, bas-relief and sculpted elements.  We devote special care to material analysis, constituents and manufacturing method, as well as finishing.
Understanding the characteristics of the material in relation to its state of conservation is paramount to identify the best technique for pre-consolidation, cleaning and consolidation. Studying the material is equally important to repoint joints of mortar beds, an essential issue for the conservation of a wall face and brickwork continuity.
